Testimonials

We take great pride in delivering outstanding results, and there's no better way to showcase our commitment than through the words of those we've had the pleasure to serve.

"Avery helped me make the right decisions to sell my place at the right time. Avery provided me with a detailed analysis that helped me decide to put my place of the market. She was able to back everything up with sound logic and the proof is in the pudding. I listed my place and it was under contract in 2 days. The sale went incredibly smoothly and I couldn’t be happier with the results."

"What I enjoyed the most was the level of professionalism and “protection” Avery provides for her clients - her emails and verbal communication are always prompt, clear and she makes sure there are no more questions and that you completely understand before the exchange is over."

"Avery did an exceptional job with both the purchase and sale of my condo in NE DC. A Washington native, she knew the market incredibly well and could paint a picture for me of what life would be like living in each neighborhood. From the beginning, Avery sat me down and explained the process, outlined my needs vs. wants, and determined my purchase range. She took me on several home tours that were tailored to my tastes. Being new to the area, she recommended solid contractors and loan agents to work with. The best part of meeting Avery was that we also became good friends and she introduced me to other like-minded people in the area through happy hours and events. Highly recommended!"

"We recently sold our house (406 Kentucky Ave SE) and Avery and Elsa were the agents. They did a fantastic job getting the house ready for sale. I am reminded of a line from the delightful English drama, Doc Martin, where the cranky doctor asked a patient (who was faking illnesses to get into a nursing home) how bad the pain was, on a scale of 1 (least) to 10 (worst). Patient’s response: “You’re gonna need a bigger scale, Doc!” Applying the scale here, with 10 being best, I give them a 10. As to improvements, I can think of just one: get a bigger scale."

"Avery was an outstanding advocate for us throughout the entire home buying process. Avery used every resource at her disposable to ensure that we closed on our dream house. We considered many financing options and Avery contacted numerous lenders on our behalf. Our road to purchasing was complicated and drawn out but Avery met every challenge with a smile and solution."

"Avery is a consummate professional. We flew to Baltimore from New Mexico to just have a look with her at available properties, with no intention of buying during those 3 days. But lo and behold, she found exactly what we were looking for, negotiated a good price, and the offer was accepted! This was not magic. Avery listened very carefully to what we wanted, and checked in with us after viewing each property to determine what we liked and disliked. Her memory is impressive! Avery is also easy to work with and has a wonderful sense of humor. We enjoyed every minute in her company! We can recommend, without reservation, Avery Boyce for your next home search."

"Avery was a true pleasure to work with. She was responsive to all of our questions (and we had a lot of questions, as first-time homebuyers in a complicated market). All of her explanations were clear, and we truly appreciated that she calmed armed with spreadsheets and data. She was just as knowledgeable about the beyond-Beltway suburbs as she was about the different areas of DC we looked at. Her negotiation skills saved us a lot at closing time. Highly recommended!"

"Long story short, Deirdre has got to be one of the best in the real estate game -- she is infinitely patient, kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and damn good at what she does. If you're looking for a home in the DC area, particularly in Capitol Hill or Hill East, she should be your agent. I met Deirdre when my wife and I stopped into an open house for a house she was selling while we were in the ephemeral "we may buy a house in the next year or so maybe" phase. We were very upfront that we were only gauging the market and would definitely not be buying the house she was selling. She was nevertheless a gracious hostess and followed up (not in a pushy way) via email about how our market search was going. Once the home search really heated up, we decided to use Deirdre as our buyer's agent. I can't really even approximate how many last-minute phone calls, viewings, 12AM emails, open houses, frantic advice seeking texts, and more she dealt with from us. I'd get responses from her at 1AM. She'd set up a time for a house we wanted to view....on three hours' notice. We saw a listing with no pictures and asked her about it, and a few hours later, she texted us a video of her walking through the house explaining everything she saw. She helped craft a competitive offer package on more than one occasion -- advising us what the most competitive path was, and also what our comfort zone may lead us to do instead. We decided we wanted to put an offer in on a home (the offer that was eventually accepted on our new home) with about twelve hours' notice. She cranked out the documents overnight/in the early AM and stayed in touch with the sellers' agent to make sure he knew our offer package was coming. Once we were under contract, she was even more helpful. Recommendations for inspectors, pest inspections, title companies, even design-type issues -- all with the same responsiveness as before (even though her commission was already in the bag). Sellers' agent was a bit less than on top of the sale process than we'd have liked, but Deirdre was able to take control of the process to make sure all ducks were in a row for closing. I don't particularly envision needing her services again anytime soon, but if I did, there's no way I'd use anyone else."

"My wife and I have purchased and sold 2 properties on Capitol Hill in DC with Deirdre, the most recent one being about 1 year ago. Deirdre is a consummate professional in her work as a real estate agent, but as importantly her extensive network of other service professionals (repair people, painters, movers, etc.) was invaluable for us because we live out-of-state and needed to conduct many aspects of the purchase, sale, and moving transactions through trusted referrals. Each referral we received--bar none--was spot-on. She knows Capitol Hill (and no doubt many other areas in the DC area) extremely well and shared that knowledge freely. We relied on Deirdre for many things, including being available to spend many hours with us showing houses on our brief trips to the Hill. We looked forward to those trips both because Deirdre did her homework extremely well in advance, but also because we really enjoyed the time, energy, and conversation she contributed to each visit. Buying a home is stressful enough, but conducting real estate transactions long distance requires a diligent, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented professional. Working with Deirdre checked all the boxes for us. If a real estate need or opportunity arises again for us, Deirdre will be our first call."
